Moslem Faith

The Moslem Faith is the youngest of all present world religions originating from the life and deeds of Abraham (Abrahamic religion) but being revealed by God through in revelations of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. As itself, the Moslem Faith does not reject Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism or other world religions stating only that Moslem Faith is the only right faith.

The word "Islam", for example" stands for "submission" and the worshipper of Moslem Faith is known as "Muslim" what means "the one who submits to God". It is noteworthy that Muslims insist on the total surrender of one's own to God. The

Moslem Faith takes back to the early 7th century when an outstanding political, religious and military leader Muhammad (Mohammed) expressed God's ideas for 23 years, organized the Islam on their basis and brought isolated Arab tribes under his total control. The result of all these activities was the creation of one of the strongest world leaders of that time, namely the Arab Caliphate and subsequent global spread of Islam that has continued up to our days.

It was angel Gabriel that transmitted God's afflation to Muhammad being considered to be the main angel in Islam as a result. All the rules and principles that God conveyed to his prophet in an oral way were written down by Muhammad and his closest followers later on. Consequently, the two main foundations of the Moslem Faith are the Koran and the Sunnah (ideas and actions of Muhammad). It is telling that Muslims do not claim Islam to be a new religion or Mohammed to be a godlike being. The latter one is considered an earthly creature that restored the original religion of Abraham spoiled by Jews and Christians in the course of the existence of the corresponding religions. The Moslem Faith admits the staple Judaism prophets, including Moses, Jesus, Noah, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Job, Moses, Aaron, David and so forth. However, Muslims fid themselves the only worshippers who follow the original, "non-false" interpretation of the Holy Scriptures.

Due to its 1.5 millennium history, the Moslem Faith worked out its own religious foundations and the compilation of juristic laws that guide almost every sphere of living combined under the name "Sharia". All the existing rules and regulations maintain five main principles or duties every faithful man is supposed to observe.

As for denominations, there are two of them at the present moment. An overwhelming majority of Muslims are the Sunni working out 85% and the rest is the Shiah averaging out to 15% of all Muslims of the world. The schism is the second largest Moslem Faith denomination after the Sunni that emerged in the late 7th century.

Upon the whole, the total number of Muslim adherents amounts to 1-1.8 billion people what makes the Moslem Faith the second wide-spread world religion after Christianity.
